UPDATE 5/23/20
Safety, cleanliness, fun, adventure, and a great place to escape from the craziness of this world.
Goosewing Ranch will be following all regulations and taking all practical precautions to keep everyone safe while with us.
As an isolated retreat deep in the Gros Ventre Valley, Goosewing Ranch is a secure and safe place to escape to after you did your part to flatten the curve. It is time to get out, stretch your legs, and try your hand at any or all of our wonderful activities while practicing good social distancing.
Goosewing Ranch will be operating our guest services from June 28 – September 20, 2020. We do have availability for many great package options at this time.
We will be training our staff on new methods of cleaning, with more frequency, we will be wearing face coverings when the 6ft distance can’t be maintained, and we will be taking precautions with activities and services to ensure your safety and the safety of our staff.
Our activities and services revolve around open air space, and finding your peace in nature.
We are excited to welcome you to our “isolated retreat” here at Goosewing Ranch.
Previous Statement: Howdy Partner,
We hope this finds you well and embracing this extra time with your immediate family. For those of you on the front lines, we wish you health and peace; thank you.
Here is an update to keep you informed on what is happening on our end regarding the COVID-19 pandemic. We also have a webpage dedicated to COVID-19 information. https://goosewingranch.com/the-area/covid-19-information/
We are and have been working closely with a variety of agencies and partners. Like you, we are keeping updated on the current information to assure we are taking the appropriate actions to keep our guest and staff safe, while providing excellent Western hospitality. Here are a few of the agencies we are working closely with and taking advice from: the Teton County Health Department, the CDC and WHO, American Outdoors Outfitters Association, our Insurance agency, the Dude Ranchers Association and the Wyoming Chapter, Wyoming Office of Tourism, US Chamber of Commerce and Jackson Hole Chamber, and other respected operators.
Our goal is to minimize risk as much as possible while providing a safe, relaxing, fun, and adventurous vacation for you all. However, it is important to note there will always be risk involved with travel and contracting this virus, until there is a viable vaccine. To reduce risk, we will need everyone’s cooperation, participation and understanding. The advice we are receiving, from trusted agencies, suggests that we continue social distancing throughout the summer, and adopt new methods and procedures for sanitizing and general operations. Again, we hope you understand that any adjustments we make will be for the safety and wellbeing of our guest and staff. We will adjust our schedule and operations as needed to meet state, county and federal regulations regarding this pandemic.
At this time, we are planning on opening the ranch for our guests beginning Sunday, June 28 and running until Sunday, September 20. If you are booked between June 7 and June 27 and haven’t rescheduled your package, please contact us directly to do so at 1-307-733-5251 or [email protected]. We currently do have availability throughout July, August and September. At this time 2020 rates will be honored for reservations rebooked for 2021.
Unfortunately, we will be postponing our Goosewing Rendezvous Glamping and Pack trips for the 2020 season till 2021. It is obvious that we are unable to take the extra precautions to mitigate around the coronavirus at these locations. So, for the safety of our guest and staff, we will close these operations just for this summer. We do apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience this causes. If you haven’t contacted us regarding rescheduling for these options, please do so at 1-307-733-5251 or [email protected]. We can rebook your reservation at accommodations on the ranch this season or for 2021. At this time 2020 rates will be honored for reservations moved to 2021.
As a part of our Goosewing Ranch family we will involve each of you in our daily operations and planning for your family vacation experience. This unfortunate pandemic will give each of us the opportunity to create new positive habits. We feel that this new adventure will allow an even more personalized experience for all our guests. Below you will find an outline regarding the changes we expect to be making in an effort minimize risks, while creating great family memories.
*More individualized outdoor activities and experiences: Hiking, biking, UTV exploring, river tubing, and more!
*Pool/Hot Tub/Sauna: Based on recommendations from our county health department, safety standards will not be able to be satisfied, so, we will not open these amenities for the 2020 season. We will be offering more river-based experiences and opportunities as well as more individual family time for other instructed or guided activities.
*Massages: To maintain social distancing we will not be able to offer massages. To do so, we will be offering each guest, that would have been eligible for an included massage a $50 gift certificate. Gift certificates can be applied as a credit to your incidentals (gift shop, bar). Massages will not be available for the 2020 season.
*Housekeeping Service: To reduce risk of cross contamination we will only be entering your cabins prior to or after your departure, not during your stay; unless of an emergency or mandatory maintenance requirement or issue. We will still offer new towels and amenities for self-pick up and trash removal from front porch, but there will not be a daily housekeeper in your cabins. After each guests’ departure, cabins will be fully stripped with all soft bedding and materials washed, and all surfaces in the cabin disinfected/sanitized.
*Saddle and Horse fittings: We will be practicing good social distancing and sanitization all around the ranch. We are still offering a great riding and equine program but will not be allowing guests to gather in large groups at the tack room upon arrival to the ranch or before rides. We will assign each family a time to come to the tack room to have a personalized ride and limit the number of people gathered in one area at a particular time. We will be wiping down tack between rides and riders. Each guest will still have a chance to be fitted and fully enjoy the riding at Goosewing Ranch.
*Specialty Rides and Activities: We will be customizing each family experience to accommodate their needs and desires all while providing a safe environment and following new regulations. We do reserve the right to adjust, limit, or suspend activities to comply with safety regulations.
*Dining: The Goosewing culinary experience will be something special, but also a bit different than before. We are working closely with the county health department and making adjustments as new information comes in. We will adjust our menu and service to meet requirements to keep everyone safe. We are discouraged from providing any type of buffet. Breakfast will still be made to order, lunches will be sacked to order, and dinners will be family style.
We know that this is a difficult time. We hope you are looking forward to a great family vacation at Goosewing Ranch. We are working hard at ensuring your safety and good time.
Again, this is a fluid situation and we will keep you updated as things change. We are doing all we can to ensure the safety of our guest and staff. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me directly. We will send out updates as they arise, as well as, travel recommendations and information on preparing for your vacation with us. We are looking forward to connecting with each of you this summer.
Advice: Please practice good social distancing and hygiene prior to arrival and during travel to Goosewing Ranch. We are a beautiful isolated retreat, but not immune to the virus. Help us protect everyone by doing your part before, and during your stay with us.
We do encourage our guests to purchase travel insurance.
