Jackson Hole Area Activities Include Snake River Rafting, Yellowstone & Grand Teton National Parks, Rodeos & More

Area Activities Near Gooswing Ranch

Most people spend their entire visit on the ranch, but if you want to get off the ranch for a day and explore the Jackson Hole area we can also provide some help with details.  All off ranch activities are an additional cost and not included in your package rates.   We strongly suggest that you schedule these activities on your own so you are fully aware of the companies policies and activities.  We can give you suggestions on who to contact.  Goosewing Ranch is not liable for these activities, rates, transportation, cancellations, issues, hazards.   Rates and availability are not guaranteed.  All off ranch activities are sub-contracted through professional guides and outfits.  Transportation to and from activities is not included and maybe an additional cost.  We recommend planning your off ranch activities Wednesday or either before or after your ranch stay.  Meals are not included for off ranch excursions.

Rafting

There are many different options for rafting trips in the surrounding area. We can set up 8 and 15 mile whitewater rafting trips down the Snake River as well as more gentle scenic float trips through parts of Grand Teton National Park. The rafting trips typically take an entire day, so you will have to sacrifice some time in the saddle. Just let us know and we will set up the whole thing for you.  Trips are best enjoyed June – September.  Please call for information on age, size and weight limits (mostly for children during high water) and current CSF.

Yellowstone National Park Tour

Many people like to take advantage of our proximity to Yellowstone National Park. We can arrange a guided trip into the park, or you can drive yourself. We are about 80 miles from the park and a typical day trip will take around 12 hours to see many of the sights including Old Faithful and the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, along with an abundance of wildlife. There are many options for the kinds of guided trips and we would be more than happy to go over them with you.  We can also provide you with a map of YNP and give you a list of must sees for a self guided tour.

Grand Teton National Park Tour

Grand Teton National Park is also a great way to spend a day. You will pass through a section of the park on your way to Goosewing, but there is much more to see. The park is much closer than Yellowstone, and presents its own unique attractions. There are many available hiking trails and scenic drives. You are sure to see some amazing wildlife while exploring the park.  There are many lakes to visit inside GTNP as well.

Rodeo

There is a rodeo in town every Wednesday and Saturday between Memorial Day and Labor Day. Catching the rodeo on a Saturday night is a great idea if you arrive in town before your stay with us. If you are tighter on time, however, we can send you into town in a shuttle on Wednesday night for dinner in town and a great rodeo event that everyone should experience.  Events include but are not limited to:  barrel racing, calf roping, tie down roping, bull riding, bareback riding, saddle bronc riding, mutton busting.  This is a great family activity.  Tickets can be purchased at the gate just prior to the rodeo.

Around Jackson

There is plenty to keep you busy if you are hanging around Jackson before or after your stay with us. Jackson offers world class fine dining, shopping, art galleries, museums, candy stores and much more.   There is a reenacted “Shoot Out” on the town square each evening starting at 6:30pm.  Don’t forget to have your picture taken under the famous Jackson Hole Antler Arch on the town square, or enjoy a stage coach ride around the local shops.  Just check out our attractions map to see some of the unique sights and activities Jackson has to offer.
